Driving Under the Influence of Cannabis: What You Need to Know

Criminal Defence

22 Nov

It’s a saying…….” Drunk Drivers run stop signs; stoners wait for them to turn green”.

A car was stopped by the Police (for no reason according to the driver) – Now Just because he was laughing really hard, and his eyes were red. -  Is that a crime? Of course, not…….No way……. Then why were the police suspicious?

A cop asks the guy, "How high are you?" The guy responded with, "No, officer. It's 'Hi, how are you?

"Police asked, Sir, you look high. Are you on drugs?  The driver laughed really loud and replied “I don’t do drugs, just weed. But you know that driving under the influence of Cannabis is illegal? The Office prompted. But Sir, It’s Organic and I am now on a Seaweed diet. Also, I find it quite ironic that the worst thing about the weed is getting caught.

Cannabis—also called marijuana weed, herb, pot, grass, bud, ganja, Mary Jane, and a vast number of other slang terms—is a greenish-gray mixture of the dried flowers of Cannabis sativa.– no matter what you call it……it affects your body and brain.

"Is marijuana addictive? Yes, in the sense that most of the really pleasant things in life are worth endlessly repeating." Many well-known people, including writers, actors, politicians, and artists, have publicly expressed their love for marijuana. “Struggle is the enemy, but weed is the remedy.” Said by musician/rapper Kid Cudi. Their openness regarding their cannabis use has played a major role in normalizing and mainstreaming cannabis culture while combating stigma.

Arnold Schwarzenegger, the "Governorate" himself, offers a straightforward defense of weed: it's not a drug, it's a plant. Simple, but powerful.  Cannabis sativa plant yields a substance called cannabis, which is used for both medical and psychotropic purposes. It is available in a variety of forms, such as hash, dried flowers and leaves, consumables (such sweets, butter, or baked goods), and extracts like oil (like honey oil, phoenix tears, and shatter).

And then the question arises "Why is marijuana against the law? It grows naturally upon our planet. Doesn’t the idea of making nature against the law seem to you a bit… unnatural?"

It’s a joke but it can certainly impair important skills required for safe driving. Studies have found a relationship between acute (short-term) cannabis intoxication and impaired driving ability. Cannabis is the illicit drug most frequently found in the blood of drivers involved in motor vehicle crashes, including fatal ones.

"Remember, that drug can stick around in your system longer than an embarrassing high school haircut. And apparently, how often you indulge in it might determine if you'll be zooming down the highway or crawling at a snail's pace!"

Police frequently use the following observations to determine whether a driver is impaired by cannabis: Pupils dilated, red eyes, Lethargy, difficulty hearing or comprehending instructions, abnormal speaking patterns, strange driving behaviors (such as swerving or driving at an unpredictable speed), and a noticeable cannabis odor in the automobile.

"In the eternal battle between legality and sensibility, cannabis remains the black sheep. Apparently, it's the key to unlocking serenity, insight, and the ability to find your car keys in the morning."

"Looks like cannabis is finally getting its PhD in medicine! Just remember, consult a doc before you spark up. Apparently, it's got a knack for tackling nausea, soothing muscle cramps, calming nerve pain, and even playing superhero against stubborn seizures

"Ah, cannabis – the ultimate game of highs and lows. On one hand, it might turn you into the Zen master of relaxation, the life of the party with all the right words. On the other, it could have you staring at your hand for hours, convinced it holds the secrets of the universe.

Apparently, it comes with a menu that ranges from feeling like you're floating on clouds to a crash course in paranoia, complete with unexpected bouts of nausea. It's like signing up for a roller coaster where the scenery changes from euphoria to 'Are those bushes plotting against me?' in the blink of an eye."

Remember folks, driving under the influence is a big no-no. If you're suspected of being a wannabe race car driver after a few too many, the police might whip out their high-tech oral fluid drug screening gadgets or subject you to the 'Standard Field Sobriety Test'—a series of moves that make even the most coordinated dancers feel like they've got two left feet. Stay safe and sober, folks, because no one wants to end up doing the 'drunk dance' on the roadside. That’s why they call a fly on marijuana? A Highflyer.

And NO – you cannot refuse testing. It’s a criminal offence. Please Do not drive until the effects no longer impair the ability to drive. "A marijuana high can enhance core human mental abilities."
