Why Choose RRM Law for Removal Order Assistance

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) and the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) issue three types of Removal Orders. The specific type of order you received is indicated by the form number on the Removal Order.

Departure Orders: With a Departure Order, you are required to leave Canada within 30 days after the order takes effect. You must also confirm your departure with the CBSA at your exit point. If you follow these steps and leave on time, you may be able to return to Canada in the future as long as you meet the entry requirements at that time. However, if you leave after the 30-day period or fail to confirm your departure, your Departure Order will automatically convert into a Deportation Order. In this case, you would need to obtain an Authorization to Return to Canada (ARC) to return in the future.

Exclusion Orders: An Exclusion Order prevents you from returning to Canada for one year. If you wish to return before the 12 months are up, you must apply for an ARC. If the Exclusion Order is issued due to misrepresentation, you will be barred from returning for five years. Additionally, if the CBSA covered the costs of your removal from Canada, you must repay those expenses.

Deportation Orders: With a Deportation Order, you are permanently prohibited from returning to Canada unless you apply for an ARC. Similarly, if the CBSA funded your removal, you will need to repay that cost before you can be eligible to return.
