YUKON NOMINEE PROGRAM FOR 2025

If you have the
right skills and experience, you could qualify for a provincial nomination
through the Yukon Nominee Program (YNP) to help with immigration.
The Yukon government is transitioning to an intake-based system for
applications to the Yukon Nominee Program (YNP). The Yukon government hopes
that the new intake system for 2025 will allow for a more manageable process
while still accepting applications throughout the year.
The Yukon
Nominee Program (YNP) will open for its first intake of 2025 on January
29, accepting up to 125 applications for nominations.
The program plans to hold intakes every few months, though there is no set
schedule. The size and frequency of future intakes will depend on how many
nominations the YNP receives from the federal government, and Yukon has asked
for more nominations in 2025.
It is a program
driven by employers that aims to address labor market demands. To apply for a
territorial nomination through the YNP, both the foreign national and their
employer must submit the application together.
Before this
change, the YNP didn't have specific intake periods or application caps and
would accept applications year-round. However, in 2024, the number of
applications increased significantly, surpassing the territory's nomination
allocation.
The YNP is a

for a territorial nomination through the YNP, both the foreign national and
their employer must submit the application together.
Some of the common ways to immigrate to the Yukon include:
- Skilled Workers: Individuals with specific skills and qualifications that are in demand in the Yukon labor market can apply for permanent residency through employer-driven programs or the Yukon Nominee Program (YNP).
- Business Owners or Entrepreneurs: Individuals looking to start or invest in a business in the Yukon can apply under the Yukon Business Nominee Program.
- International Students: Those who have studied at an eligible educational institution in the Yukon may be eligible for a work permit or permanent residency through the YNP after completing their studies.
- Family Sponsorship: If you have a family member who is a Canadian citizen or permanent resident in the Yukon, they may be able to sponsor you for immigration.
- Express Entry: Those eligible for Canada's Express Entry system may apply for permanent residence through the Yukon’s Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) if they meet specific requirements.
